Mezwaru is a furniture brand that celebrates the art of conversation and the beauty of hand-crafted, custom made furniture. Founded by architects Janki Shah and Prachi Donde, the brand is deeply rooted in a passion for architecture, materials, and global design traditions.
We create designer furniture that brings meaning, beauty, and purpose into your space - whether it's a handcrafted sofa, a statement dining table or any custom piece designed to fit seamlessly into your home. Every item is made to order at our in-house workshop in Mumbai, where our skilled artisans focus on fine craftsmanship, material detail and long-lasting quality.
At Mezwaru, we collaborate with homeowners, interior designers and architects to build loose furniture that integrates effortlessly into new or existing interiors. While on-site work progresses, our production runs in parallel - helping reduce timelines without compromising on design or finish.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
Janki Shah
An accomplished architect with over 15 years of experience in design, materials and execution. A graduate of K.R.V.I.A., Mumbai, and a postgraduate from The Berlage Institute, The Netherlands, she has worked on a wide range of projects from luxurious villas and institutional buildings to town planning initiatives. Janki is also associated with the School of Architecture, NMIMS Mumbai.
Her design sensibility is deeply influenced by her extensive travels across the globe. These experiences have exposed her to a wide spectrum of cultures, architectural styles and craft traditions, all of which inform her thoughtful approach to design and detail. At Mezwaru, Janki merges this global exposure with a sharp eye for materials and form, creating furniture that is both elegant and enduring. Her work reflects a careful balance of contemporary aesthetics and time-honored techniques - infusing each piece with a sense of meaning, context and purpose.
Prachi Donde
A trained architect with a decade of experience across design and execution. A graduate of BSSA, NMIMS Mumbai, and a postgraduate from the University of Michigan, USA, she brings a strong foundation in architecture and interior design. Her professional journey spans residential, commercial and villa projects, combining thoughtful spatial design with refined detailing.
Prachi’s love for travel and exploration deeply informs her design approach - drawing from diverse cultures to create furniture rich in story and substance. With a sharp sense of scale, proportion and graphic clarity, she shapes products that are as functional as they are beautiful. Also associated with architectural education at the School of Architecture, NMIMS Mumbai, she brings a thoughtful, layered perspective to Mezwaru - ensuring each piece is crafted with balance, intention and long-lasting quality.
